Cleaning Out Your Garbage Disposal
{July 16, 2013}—A quick and easy tip for cleaning out your garbage disposal: use lemons. Cut a lemon into eight wedges and put them in the garbage disposal. Turn on the disposal and pulse it a few times until the lemon is most of the way chopped up. Let it sit for part of the day; the acid in the lemons not only helps clean out your disposal, but it makes your kitchen smell nice as well.
Other Disposal Tips:
NEVER pour bleach into your garbage disposal to clean it. The bleach will eat away at the rubber gaskets, eventually causing your disposal to leak.
If your disposal stops working, first check for the reset button on the bottom of the disposal.
